When the Port Moresby Game Fishing Club decided to elevate its digital visibility during the 47th National Game Fishing Titles in 2024, they partnered with WAVE, leveraging our deep expertise in video production and digital content strategy. Our goal was to create a vibrant online presence, substantially increase the club's YouTube subscribers, and boost overall web traffic. We designed a digital strategy that deeply engaged the fishing community and drove significant interaction across multiple platforms.

Our comprehensive approach included expert social media management paired with high-quality video production. We maintained active daily engagement on Instagram and Facebook, while our YouTube strategy featured daily video reels complete with custom thumbnails and finely tuned captions to improve both discoverability and viewer retention. Our on-site content team of four worked tirelessly from 5am to 8pm, including two videographers dedicated to capturing diverse and engaging footage using both aerial drones and mirrorless cameras for dynamic perspectives. One team member was devoted to crucial post-production tasks, ensuring videos were edited, finalized, and ready for upload by noon the following day. Another team member managed the continuous flow of updates on social media platforms, sharing the latest action directly from the events.

Our daily operations were tightly scheduled, starting with a 6am briefing with the club president, Mr. Robbie Huxley, to align on the day's key activities and expectations. Throughout the day, our team gathered extensive footage, incorporating live updates from the sea via WhatsApp to ensure the content authentically represented the fishing highlights. The day concluded with a 6pm debrief with President Huxley and a featured angler to review and discuss the day's catches, which were then transformed into engaging narrative content for our audience.

The impact was impressive: the club’s YouTube channel saw an organic increase in subscribers by 217%, growing from 18 to 57. Engagement levels soared, especially from audiences in Australia and Papua New Guinea, with notable local participation in Port Moresby. The club's webpage also saw a significant uptick in traffic, illustrating the effectiveness of our integrated and strategic approach to video and social media content.

Hosting the event at the Royal Papua Yacht Club not only marked a pivotal event for the Port Moresby Game Fishing Club but also showcased our ability to drive impactful digital growth through sophisticated video production and strategic content management. This campaign demonstrated the power of integrating advanced video techniques with comprehensive digital strategies, affirming our commitment to achieving remarkable results through sustained organic growth.
